Job Board Terms

Version 2026-09-29 · Last updated 29 September 2026

These terms apply when you post your profile and CV on the Jobbie job board. Please read them — especially sections 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9, which explain who sees your details, how long your Listing stays up and the listing fee, what happens when contractors contact you, your right-to-work answer and the limits on Jobbie's responsibility.

The key points

  • Your profile, CV, contact details and a short summary we make from your CV are shown only to signed-in contractors on Jobbie's Pro and Premium plans — not to the public, and not to Basic members.
  • If you're Bermudian, the spouse of a Bermudian or a PRC holder, your listing is free and stays up for 65 days from when you confirm your email. If you'd need a work permit, there's a $15 listing fee and your listing stays up for 40 days from when we receive it.
  • You can renew your listing, or take it down at any time, from the link we email you. When it ends we delete your CV and contact details.
  • Contractors may contact you directly. Any interview, job offer, pay or employment is between you and them — Jobbie isn't an employer or recruiter and doesn't promise you'll be contacted or hired.
  • Your right-to-work answer must be true. Jobbie doesn't check it; an employer must check your documents before you start.
  • Jobbie's listing fee is the only payment involved. Never pay an employer or anyone else to be considered for a job — report anything suspicious to Jobbie.

This summary is for convenience. The full terms below apply.

1. About the job board and these terms

These Job Board Terms are between Jobbie (Jobbie, we, us) and you, the person posting a profile and CV (a Listing) on the Jobbie job board (the Job Board).

The Job Board is a place where people looking for trade and construction work can make their details available to contractors who use Jobbie. Jobbie is not an employer, recruiter or employment agency. We don't look for work for you, recommend you to anyone, or take part in interviews or hiring decisions. The Job Board is free if you're Bermudian, the spouse of a Bermudian or a PRC holder. If you'd need a work permit, there's a $15 listing fee (section 4). That fee is the only thing Jobbie ever charges you: it pays for your Listing to be shown, and doesn't buy you an interview, a job or a work permit.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

2. Who can post

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • You may post only your own details and your own CV, and only one Listing at a time for each email address.
  • You must give a working email address you control. Your Listing goes live only after you confirm it from the email we send.

3. What's shown and who can see it

Your Listing includes your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), your main trade and any other trades, experience, parish, availability, your age (only if you choose to give it), your right-to-work answer, anything you write about yourself, your CV, and how many days your Listing has been on the Job Board.

To help contractors find the right people quickly, we use an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to read your CV and pick out a few facts — your years of experience, your most recent employer, your education or main qualification, and up to four key skills. These appear on your Listing in a short summary with your right-to-work answer and, if you gave it, your age (for example, "Bermudian · 26 years old · Worked for BAC · Saltus graduate"). The AI is told not to pick out your date of birth, nationality, health, contact details or other sensitive information, and we check what it returns before showing it. It can still get things wrong: you can see your summary on your listing page, and if anything is wrong, email us and we'll correct or remove it.

Only signed-in contractor members on Jobbie's Pro and Premium plans can see your Listing. It isn't public, isn't shown to customers or to contractors on the Basic plan, and isn't indexed by search engines. Contractors see your profile first; your email, phone number and CV are shown when a contractor chooses to open them, and we record which contractor did so.

Contractors are independent businesses. They agree in their Service Provider Agreement to use your details only to consider you for work with their own business, to keep them confidential and secure, not to share or sell them, and to delete them when they no longer need them. We can't control what a contractor does with information once they've seen it, but we take misuse seriously — see section 7.

4. How long your Listing stays up, and the listing fee

  • No work permit needed (Bermudian, spouse of a Bermudian or PRC holder): your Listing is free and visible for 65 days from when you confirm your email.
  • Work permit needed (you hold a work permit or would need one): there's a $15 listing fee (Bermuda dollars) and your Listing is visible for 40 days from when we confirm we've received the fee. You pay by bank transfer to Jobbie's bank account, using the reference on your listing page, and then tell us on that page. If we haven't received the fee within 14 days of you confirming your email, we delete what you sent us.
  • The fee pays for your Listing to be shown. Once your Listing has gone live it isn't refundable, including if you remove it early or find work. If we remove your Listing within its 40 days for a reason that isn't your fault, or a payment reaches us after we've deleted your details or can't be matched to a Listing, we'll refund it to the account it came from.
  • We email you about a week before your Listing ends.
  • You can renew your Listing from the link in our emails before it ends: a free Listing for another 65 days from the day you renew; a fee Listing for another 40 days, added to the end of your current Listing, once we've received the fee again.
  • You can remove your Listing at any time from the same link. It comes down straight away.
  • When your Listing ends — when its time is up, when you remove it, or if we remove it — we delete your CV and your name, contact details, age, right-to-work answer, what you wrote and the summary we made from your CV. We keep a minimal record (dates, trades, experience, parish, and which contractor accounts opened your details) for up to 12 months, for security and to deal with complaints, and then delete it. Records of any fee you paid are kept with our accounts, as the Privacy Policy explains.
  • If you don't confirm your email within 7 days, we delete what you sent us.

If you lose the link, you can ask for a new one on the job board page using the email address you posted with.

5. When a contractor contacts you

Contractors who see your Listing may contact you directly by email or phone. Any conversation, interview, job offer, pay, contract of employment or other arrangement is between you and that contractor alone. Jobbie isn't a party to it and isn't responsible for it, and nothing in these terms makes Jobbie your employer or agent.

We don't promise that anyone will contact you or offer you work, or that information contractors give you is accurate. Your rights as an employee (for example under the Employment Act 2000 and the Human Rights Act 1981) are with the employer.

Stay safe

Apart from Jobbie's own listing fee, which you pay only to Jobbie's bank account using the reference on your listing page, never pay anyone to be considered for a job — and never send money, passwords or bank details to someone you've only met through the Job Board. Meet in a public place or at a business address, and tell us at hello@jobbiebda.com about anything suspicious.

6. Your right to work in Bermuda

We ask whether you're Bermudian, the spouse of a Bermudian or the holder of a Permanent Resident's Certificate, hold a work permit, or would need one. Under Bermuda's immigration law, most people who aren't Bermudian, married to a Bermudian or PRC holders need a work permit, and it's the employer who must apply for it. Your answer helps contractors understand what hiring you would involve. It also decides whether your Listing is free or carries the listing fee (section 4): the fee depends on whether an employer would need to apply for a work permit to hire you, not on your nationality.

Your answer must be true, and you must remove or update your Listing if it stops being true. Jobbie doesn't check it. An employer must check your documents for themselves before you start work, and must not treat your answer as proof.

7. Rules for your Listing

Your Listing must be accurate and your own. Don't include other people's personal information (for example, referees' phone numbers — say "references available on request" instead), anything unlawful, offensive or misleading, advertising, or links to other websites. Please don't include sensitive information such as your health, religion, ethnicity or date of birth — employers don't need it to consider you.

We may remove a Listing, without notice, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms, isn't genuine, is a duplicate, or puts anyone at risk. We may also restrict or remove a contractor's access to the Job Board if we believe they've misused it.

8. Your personal information

We use your details only to run the Job Board: to show your Listing to Pro and Premium contractors, make the short summary described in section 3, tell contractors how many people are looking for work in their trades (without your contact details), email you about your Listing, keep records of any fee you pay, keep the Job Board secure and investigate misuse. We rely on your agreement to these terms to show your Listing, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time by removing it. We store your Listing with service providers outside Bermuda (mainly in the United States), as the Privacy Policy explains, and remain responsible for it under the Personal Information Protection Act 2016.

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to our Privacy Officer at privacy@jobbiebda.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Privacy Commissioner.

9. What Jobbie is and isn't responsible for

We provide the Job Board as it is. To the extent the law allows, Jobbie isn't liable for whether you're contacted or hired; anything a contractor says or does, including any job offer, employment or pay; or any loss caused by someone using information you chose to make available, beyond our own obligations under these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that can't be limited by law, and nothing affects your rights under the Personal Information Protection Act 2016.

10. Changes, law and contact

  • We may change the Job Board or these terms. If we change these terms while your Listing is live, we'll email you; if you don't want to continue, remove your Listing. Renewing a Listing means agreeing to the terms current at the time.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Bermuda, and the courts of Bermuda have jurisdiction.
