Privacy Policy

Jobbie (“Jobbie,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have.

We collect three categories of information:

• Account information. Name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed by Supabase), role (customer, contractor, admin).
• Project information. Photos, videos, addresses, written descriptions, intake answers, messages between you and the contractor, quote amounts, status changes.
• Payment references. The reference text you include with your bank transfer, the timestamp we mark a payment as confirmed, and a record of which admin confirmed it. We do not store full bank account numbers, card numbers, or banking credentials.

We also collect technical information automatically: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps. We use this for security and to improve the platform.

• To create your account and let you sign in
• To match you with a contractor and route messages
• To generate AI-assisted draft scopes and cost estimates (see section 5)
• To process and reconcile payments
• To send transactional emails (e.g. quote received, approved)
• To investigate fraud, abuse, or terms violations
• To comply with legal obligations in Bermuda

• The matched contractor. Once you accept a quote, the contractor sees your name, contact details, and project content so they can complete the work. Before acceptance, contractors only see project content (photos, description) — your identity stays private.
• Service providers. Supabase (database, auth, file storage), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI processing for draft estimates), Resend (transactional email). Each is bound by their own privacy and security commitments.
• Legal and safety. If required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
• Business transfers. If Jobbie is acquired or merges with another business, your data may transfer with it, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

When you submit a project, your photos, videos, and intake answers are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate a draft cost estimate and scope. Anthropic processes this content per their privacy and data-use commitments and does not use API content to train their models. The contractor reviews and edits the draft before sending you a quote.

Project files are stored in Supabase Storage in a private bucket, accessible only via signed URLs to authorised users. We retain account and project data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs (typically up to seven years).

We use industry-standard practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, row-level security on the database, signed URLs for file access, and access controls for admins. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting you we will notify you and the appropriate authorities promptly.

You can:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information from your account settings
• Delete your account and request removal of associated data (some records may be retained for legal or accounting reasons — see section 6)
• Withdraw consentfor processing where it’s based on consent

Jobbie is not directed at people under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Some of our service providers are based outside Bermuda (e.g. Vercel and Anthropic in the United States). Where data is transferred, we rely on the providers’ own safeguards and contractual commitments to protect it.

We may update this policy from time to time. If a change is material we’ll notify you by email and post a notice on the site. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when the most recent change was made.
